Dreams are usually seen of the milestones which are not achieved till date, however, in case of Maharashtra textile industry, the dreams can be ‘achieving the same glorious past of Maharashtra witnessed during the golden days of British era’.

A buyer-seller meet for textile industries was organised by local Powerloom Seva Kendra in Burhanpur, a mid-size city in Madhya Pradesh. The meet was inaugurated by Woman and Child Development Minister Archana Chitnis.

Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company, the 137-year-old textile manufacturer with 25 company-owned stores and franchises across nine towns in Tamil Nadu, has big plans for the State focusing more on retail business.

Kurlon Enterprises Limited, country’s leading mattress company, is eyeing a major expansion in Chhattisgarh. The company will soon increase its Kurlon Mattress Xpress (KMX) outlet to five from the existing two located in Raipur and Bhilai.

Ethnic wear brand, Soch has held talks with private equity (PE) funds, including L Catterton, Westbridge Capital and CX Partners, for a majority stake sale valuing the company at around $200 million.

HeiQ displayed its range of products from home textiles at the Heimtextil 2017 expo, an international trade fair for contract and home textiles, which was held from January 10 to 13, 2017, in Messe Frankfurt, Germany.
