The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved continuation of the Credit Linked Capital Subsidy and Technology Upgradation Scheme (CLCS-TUS) beyond 12th Plan for three years from 2017-18 to 2019-20.

The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) has urged the Government to disburse the committed support of about Rs 3,000 crore under Textile Upgradation Fund (TUF) scheme to help the industry tide over tough times.
As per the data available with the Government, the export of textiles and garments has shown an increase of 3.2 per cent during the last three years.
