The 10th Annual General Meeting of ITTA was held on 16 th December 2020 through video conferencing under the Chairmanship of Dr Sundararaman KS. The key note address was given by Punit Lalbhai, Executive Director, Arvind.

The Department of Handlooms and Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management (SVPITM) have jointly organised a series of workshops in technical textiles.

The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Advantage India: Emerging Global Manufacturing Hub for Technical Textiles’ and it made an attempt to chalk out a roadmap to make India a global manufacturing hub for technical textiles.

India is one of the fastest growing and promising economies today on the world map. With huge raw material availability and with stable Government, rapid industrial growth is forecasted in near future. Today, textile sector is one of the largest contributors to India´s exports with approximately 11 per cent of total exports.

Techtextil India—the premier business event for the technical textile and nonwovens industry players in India—will return to Mumbai this September with a host of new innovations and latest market insight of the technical textiles and nonwovens. The event is being organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd and is part of the company´s international portfolio of 45 fairs that highlight innovations and show what is driving the global textile industry.

The Indian Textile Industry counts among the leading textile industries in the world. Textile is one of the oldest, largest and significant industrial sectors in India. The Indian textile industry is in a stronger position now, than it was in the past few decades.
