In keeping with promises made during the presidential campaign, the Trump administration has made forging and renegotiating free trade agreements (FTAs) in a manner that benefits US workers, US manufacturers, and US exports a high priority in its trade policy. Chief among these promises was the commitment to address the 23-year-old North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) so that it better serves American manufacturing interests, according to Auggie Tantillo is the President/CEO, NCTO.

The National Council of Textile Organisations  (NCTO) supports making common sense improvements to NAFTA that improve US textile producers’ ability to compete on a level playing field with foreign competitors, and notes that similar improvements can be implemented when negotiating new FTAs or addressing existing ones.

Meanwhile, Sewn Products Equipment & Suppliers of the Americas (SPESA), Americas’ largest trade association devoted to the advancement of the sewn products industry, is holding its SPESA Executive Conference 2017 at TBA, Memphis, Tennessee, United States from November 7 to 9, 2017.

Washington, DC–based NCTO (National Council of Textile Organizations) is the voice of the U.S. textile industry. With over 140 current members, NCTO represents manufacturers from every major sector of the US textile industry, including fiber, yarn, fabric, home furnishings, and vertically integrated apparel producers.
