German Consul General Michael Siebert, honoured Om Prakash, Director of In ORBIT Tours Pvt Ltd and presented the award for his outstanding contribution for promotion of business and leisure travel to Germany for over four decades.

Shipments in most of the textile machinery segments experienced declines in 2014. Deliveries of new short-staple spindles fell by 15 per cent from 2013 to 2014. Shipped long-staple spindles and open-end rotors increased by 70 per cent and 2.6 per cent respectively.

India’s biggest intimate wear sourcing show, Galleria Intima 2015, moves to Delhi from 26-27 August 2015. The show will witness participation from over 80 exhibitors and 1,500 visitors. An initiative of the IAAI, Galleria Intima 4.0 is held on a much larger and grander scale so that the voice of every stakeholder in the industry gets heard.

Yarn Expo Autumn 2015 will take place for the first time in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), a bigger venue that is closer to China’s textile manufacturing hubs in surrounding provinces, from 13-15 October.

China will start selling its massive cotton stockpiles this year, in a move likely to depress demand as the country’s mills hold off buying in anticipation of sales of discounted fibre. Market rumours have been hinting that China was preparing to release some of its holdings, which have swelled to around 10 million tons more than 40 per cent of world stocks.
