Shinta Indah Jaya has launched a range of anti-viral fabrics using HeiQ Viroblock NPJ03; one of the world’s first textile treatments to be clinically proven to be up to 99.99 per cent effective in reducing SARS-CoV-2, the COVID-19 causing virus. Shinta Indah Jaya is leader in Viroblock fabrics, along with its existing range of customised fabric treatments.
The sophisticated Swiss textile technology is applied to the fabric during the finishing process and can be used with a broad range of fabric and fibre types. HeiQ Viroblock has been developed using a unique combination of silver technology alongside vesicle technology as a booster that is extremely effective in destroying bacterial and viral pathogens on textile surfaces. It does this through the silver technology which attracts the oppositely charged viruses and binds permanently to their sulfur groups. Furthermore, the fatty spherical vesicle technology (Liposomes) serves to disintegrate the cholesterol content of the viral membrane over the course of 2 to 5 minutes so that the virus is rendered destroyed, according to a press release by Shinta Indah Jaya.
HeiQ Viroblock’s breakthrough technology can be applied to a wide variety of fabric and fibre types, and has a broad spectrum of applications which include medical textiles such as facemasks, air filters, scrubs, surgical gowns and everyday use products such as drapes, curtains, mattresses and clothing amongst others. It has a long lasting effect of up to 30 washes at 60 degrees making it a more environmentally sustainable option compared to disposables, while also being hypoallergenic, completely safe against the skin and self-sanitising, enabling it to be used in varied environments. The strength of the treatment can be adjusted to the intended use of the fabric with a heavier dose used for critical applications such as face masks and disposable medical nonwovens and a lighter dose used for less critical textile applications such as daily garments and homeware fabrics.
