Cosmo launches Eco Clay for textile industry

Cosmo Speciality Chemicals has come up with
a clay-based sourcing agent, Eco Clay, for the textile industry. This agent is
going to reduce the load on E.T.P up to 30%.

It is also going to reduce COD/BOD levels
in the wash effluent because it eliminates or reduces the need for additional
auxiliaries in treatment baths like sequestering, wetting, demineralising &
stabilizing agents, lubricants, softeners, surfactants, and defoamers.

Eco-Clay also helps to achieve a minimum
weight loss of the fabric in comparison to chemical sourcing other than offering
fabric with a smooth handle. It also helps in avoiding the precipitation of
insoluble salts in bleaching baths, because of its natural chemistry and good
sequestering and dispersing power. It also prevents scaling on the rollers of
steam and wash boxes. It also comes with wash performance and instant
absorbency properties which further helps it in retaining whiteness index with
reduced usage of caustic along with improvising the bursting strength of the
fabric.

According to Anil Gaikwad, Business Head,
Cosmo Speciality Chemicals, the company is always thriving to come up with
innovative products for the textile industry. It also thrives to drive
meaningful innovation so that it can offer new solutions at a quicker pace to a
broader audience. Eco Clay has mechanical shearing on fabrics due to which it
can easily remove dirt, oils, and greases. The product also lowers the
maintenance cost and time along with increasing the shelf life of the
machinery. He also mentioned that Eco Clay is non-toxic to all aquatic
organisms and is an eco-friendly product.
