KCT-TIFAC organises training

KCT-TIFAC CORE in Textile Technology & Machinery of Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, joined hands with the Department of Fashion Technology and organised a 5-day short term training programme on "Advanced Manufacturing and Testing of Textiles" recently at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore exclusively for the benefit of students from textile institutions.

The participants were taught on various fundamental and advanced aspects of manufacturing and testing of textiles in the facilities at KCT-TIFAC CORE. The sessions were handled by faculty from fashion/textile/KCT-TIFAC CORE departments.

Technology in his message appreciated the efforts of KCT-TIFAC CORE in organising this need based event and asked all participants to utilise the platform provided for enhancing knowledge on such advanced technology equipment and machines installed at KCT-TIFAC CORE.

Dr J Srinivasan, Professor and Head, Department of Fashion Technology, gave the welcome and presidential address. Dr RS Kumar, Principal, Kumaraguru College of Dr G Ramakrishnan, Co-ordinator KCT-TIFAC CORE highlighted on KCT-TIFAC CORE facilities and also about the programme topics in detail to all the participants. Participants were also given practical hands on training and demonstration of equipments and machines installed at KCT-TIFAC CORE by R Krishnaveni, Project Assistant and S Velusamy, Machine operator at KCT-TIFAC CORE centre. On the concluding day of the 5-day short term training programme CD-ROM was released and the first copy was received by Hiranmayi from Osmania University, Hyderabad. Certificates were distributed to all participants by Dr J Srinivasan. K Gopinath, Senior Scientific Officer, KCT-TIFAC CORE gave the vote of thanks.
