KBR to build sustainable textile fibre plant

KBR has recently signed a technology contract for a plant based on sustainable textile fibres. This plant will be built by TreeToTextile AB in Nymölla, Sweden.

KBR has recently signed a technology
contract for a plant based on sustainable textile fibres. This plant will be
built by TreeToTextile AB in Nymölla, Sweden. 

So that
TreeToTextile can be enabled to efficiently and sustainably reuse valuable
chemicals, KBR is going to provide engineering, proprietary equipment,
technology license, and commissioning services for the chemicals recovery unit
of the project.

According to
Doug Kelly, KBR President, Technology, the company is glad to support this
project by TreeToTextile which is based on producing a highly sustainable
low-cost textile fibre using renewable forest materials. He also said that KBR
is committed to expand its sustainable technologies portfolio so that it can
help its clients balance business and ESG objectives.
