Thiruvananthapuram

The license of Pothys textiles in
Thiruvananthapuram has been cancelled by the state corporation because it was
found that there was a breach of COVID-19 protocol in the state.

It was found out
by the Police and health department of the corporation that people were
entering the outlet through the backdoor and were also closing the doors while
making the purchase. As per the rules passed by the government, textile stores were allowed to open only on
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. As per the latest orders, all shops are allowed
to open six days a week. Before the revision of the orders, this strict action
was taken.

As per the
notice, this action was based on Section 447 of the Kerala Municipality Act,
the Kerala Epidemic Disease Ordinance, and orders from disaster management
authorities.
