The State covers 50 per cent of the expenses for developing common facilities, infrastructure, and factory buildings, with a maximum grant of Rs 25 million per park.

The State government has approved eight additional proposals submitted by entrepreneurs for the establishment of mini textile parks in Karur district, according to V Senthilbalaji, Electricity Minister.

Speaking at the inauguration of a mini textile park at Kullampatti—set up by three entrepreneurs under the Tamil Nadu Mini Textile Park Scheme—Senthilbalaji, along with R Gandhi, Minister for Textiles and Handlooms, highlighted that the entrepreneurs invested Rs 59 million in the project. The State government would provide Rs 22 million in grants, of which Rs 13.2 million has already been disbursed. The scheme aims to share a portion of the costs involved in setting up mini textile parks.

Karur district has submitted 10 additional proposals for mini textile parks, with eight already approved and construction underway. Under this scheme, the State covers 50 per cent of the expenses for developing common facilities, infrastructure, and factory buildings, with a maximum grant of Rs 25 million per park.

Later, Senthilbalaji and Gandhi inaugurated a common facility centre at Velusamypuram to support handloom weavers. The facility, built on a 2,430-square-foot site, was established at a cost of Rs 4.5 million.
