The latest TM WEFT generation is engineered to combine technical performance with design flexibility.

Karl Mayer has announced a major upgrade to its TM WEFT warp knitting machine, expanding its application beyond conventional interlinings to include the production of lightweight, high-fashion curtain fabrics.

This advancement represents a strategic evolution of the technology, unlocking new design possibilities for home textiles and outerwear while responding to growing industry demands for sustainability and production efficiency.

The latest TM WEFT generation is engineered to combine technical performance with design flexibility. Advanced patterning features enable the creation of contemporary stripe designs, allowing manufacturers to move beyond concealed interlinings and produce visually appealing fabrics for modern interior spaces.

With this enhancement, textile producers can broaden their product offerings with premium curtain materials that meet the stringent expectations of today’s fashion and home décor markets.

Performance upgrades have also attracted interest from both warp knitting and weaving sectors. The machine delivers working speeds up to 20 per cent higher than earlier models and offers greater efficiency than traditional waterjet weaving, requiring fewer machines and personnel.

Sustainability is a key advantage of the TM WEFT system. Compared to waterjet weaving, it significantly reduces wastewater generation, supporting environmentally responsible manufacturing without sacrificing productivity or fabric quality.

KARL MAYER recently demonstrated the TM WEFT’s capabilities for home textiles at its Obertshausen facility during the Heimtextil trade fair.
