As in previous editions, an Italian contingent of companies exhibited at TECHTEXTIL RUSSIA in 2019) recently. ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, and the Italian Trade Agency for the promotion and internationalisation of Italian companies, was on hand with an institutional stand (Hall Forum, booth FC 140) to provide visitors with all the necessary information relating to the latest Italian textile technology.
“The Russian market for textile machinery is developing rapidly,” commented Alessandro Zucchi, President of ACIMIT. “and the local textile industry is investing in new machinery, in part due to the willingness of the competent authorities to replace imports of textile products with local production.”

Italian machinery manufacturers are among the primary technology suppliers for the Russian market. In 2017, Italy’s textile machinery exports to Russia amounted to Euro20 million, rising to Euro27 million for the first ten months of 2018, an 84 per cent increase compared to the same period for 2017. Zucchi concludes, “The ACIMIT / ITA institutional stand confirms that even in a year full of trade fair events, among which stands out ITMA Barcelona, there’s still a willingness on the part of our association and our associated members to strengthen an already fruitful relationship with Russian textile manufacturers.”

ACIMIT represents an industrial sector comprising around 300 manufacturers (employing close to 12,000 people) and producing machinery for an overall value of about 2.5 billion euros, with exports amounting to more than 84 per cent of total sales. Creativity, sustainable technology, reliability and quality are the characteristics which have made Italy a global leader in the manufacturing of textile machinery.
