The HKTDC Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair is returning from April 20-23 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Entering its 10th edition, the fair is an ideal sourcing platform and an information exchange hub for fine home textiles.

The fair will be held concurrently with the HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair, which is the largest event of its kind in Asia. The twin fairs together will form a one-stop sourcing platform to meet buyers’ needs for all kinds of household items and home textiles. Last year, close to 49,000 buyers from 112 countries and regions visited the two fairs, among them, more than 19,000 buyers came for the Home Textiles Fair.

This year, over 300 global exhibitors are expected to come and present a vibrant selection of textile products. Exhibitors are categorised under seven theme zones to ensure an easy-to-navigate setting and superior sourcing experience.

Hall of Glamour, the premium zone of the fair, features high-end, design-led textiles and furnishings. Leading companies including Ava International, Craftex India, I&S., J-Tex (HK) and Kerala Balers, will be returning to the fair. Alongside with first-time participating brand Casablanca in the Baby & Bedroom Textiles zone, these exhibitors will showcase their quality textiles covering bedding, curtains, carpets and towels.

Environmental awareness is on the rise and so is the demand for green products. Consumers particularly in mature markets like Japan, the US and West Europe, are enthusiastic about eco-friendly properties of natural fibres. To cater to the surging demand, the fair highlights environmentally friendly and sustainable products by labelling exhibitors with green products or hotel supplies for effective sourcing.

Other zones include bathroom and kitchen textiles, carpet and floor coverings, window fashion and accessories, upholstery and furnishing products and design solutions and trade services.

A spectrum of quality textile products from eminent brands will be showcased. Korean exhibitor I&S is returning to showcase a wealth of high-quality rugs and mats, one of which is the Dwinguler Yoga Mat. The Mat adopts a 3-layer structure, with the top and bottom foam to provide cushion and support and a fabric layer to prevent bending. Also, there is a non-slip embossing surface to prevent the mat from moving around while exercising, making it suitable for intensive training such as yoga, pilates and gym.

Casablanca Home, a well-known local brand, will be participating for the first time to present a variety of bedding products, including the patented Anti-Mosquito Summer Quilt, which is highly-suitable for area under tropical climate. Forthputting advance formula of the HHL Technology Vital Protection from the UK, the Mosquito Repellent Series has been proven as highly effective in repelling mosquito, midges, bugs, sandflies and flea within 30 cm.

The fair will once again welcome group pavilions. Three textile industry associations from India, namely the Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC), Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) and Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) will be forming group pavilions to showcase the best of their textiles products from the South Asian country. Adding to it will be two new group participation from Tongxiang Zhouquan and Pujiang, which are both well-known manufacturing bases of premium bedding products especially quilts in Zhejiang Province of mainland China.

To facilitate business matching and networking, an array of activities will be held during the fair, including Product Demo and Launch Pad sessions, where suppliers can introduce their latest products to buyers in an interactive and relaxing atmosphere. Participants can also keep abreast of the latest market trends and updates at the forums and seminars held by experienced professionals and experts in the industry.
