Foundation stone laid for eight AMRUT projects in Solapur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for eight projects under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) in Solapur, Maharashtra. The total worth of these projects is approximately Rs 2,000 crore. During the event, he dedicated over 90,000 houses completed under the PMAY-Urban in Maharashtra and 15,000 houses of Raynagar Housing Society to the nation. The beneficiaries of these houses include thousands of handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, and others.
In addition, Modi initiated the distribution of the first and second installments to 10,000 beneficiaries of PM-SVANIDHI in Maharashtra as part of the program. This scheme aims to provide financial support to street vendors, enabling them to achieve self-reliance.
During his speech, Modi highlighted Solapur as an industrial city renowned for its textiles, especially for having the largest MSME cluster for producing school uniforms. He mentioned the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, designed to offer loans and modern equipment to support this sector. The One District One Product Scheme is also among the government’s efforts to assist MSMEs.
The Prime Minister shared information about the upcoming completion of the four-lane highway between Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, and Solapur. He emphasised the rapid pace of development work, including the establishment of good roads, railways, and airways to connect cities.
