India is one of the world’s most important cotton and textile markets. How is Trützschler helping Indian spinning mills improve cotton productivity, fibre utilisation and yarn quality?
At Trützschler, we support Indian spinning mills – as well as spinning mills around the world – with highly efficient spinning preparation lines that maximise cotton utilisation while minimising fibre loss and waste. Our solutions, from BO-P and CL-X to TC 2Ci, ensure gentle fibre handling, effective cleaning, and consistent sliver quality, resulting in improved yarn evenness, strength, and overall quality.
In addition, intelligent automation, energy-efficient technologies and our digital monitoring system MyMill help mills increase productivity and reduce operating costs. By combining innovation with local technical support and close customer collaboration, Trützschler enables Indian spinners to produce high-quality yarn competitively and sustainably for both domestic and global markets.
With rising pressure on mills to reduce waste, energy use and production costs, what role do Trützschler’s blow room, carding and combing technologies play in improving mill efficiency?
Maximising the use of valuable raw material is a key factor in improving mill efficiency. Solutions such as our proven WASTECONTROL system, and the highly efficient cleaning technology of our Pre-Cleaner CL-X ensure that only impurities are removed while minimising the loss of good fibres. By preventing unnecessary fibre loss, mills can achieve higher raw-material utilisation and protect their margins.
Energy efficiency is another important pillar. For example, our Pre-Cleaner CL-X processes up to 2,000 kg of fibre per hour while consuming 30 per cent less energy than current benchmark solutions. Where previously two machines were needed to clean cotton effectively, the CL-X now handles the task alone. Through its low suction pressure and reduced air requirements, the TC 2Ci contributes to greater energy efficiency. At the same time, the need for compressed air has been reduced to a minimum. The TC 2Ci enables higher production rates, which reduce energy consumption per kilogram of output.
In combing, the TCO 21XL further enhances mill efficiency. With twelve combing heads instead of the typical eight, it increases productivity by up to 50 per cent while maintaining the same excellent yarn quality. At the same time, it requires less space and lowers energy consumption per head. The reduced footprint not only decreases initial investment costs but also contributes to lower building and operating expenses throughout the mill’s lifetime. Because fewer machines are needed to achieve the same production output, mills benefit from lower staffing requirements and a significantly lower total cost of ownership compared to competing solutions.

Digitalisation is becoming increasingly important in textile manufacturing. How is Trützschler using automation, sensors and digital solutions to support smarter spinning mills?
We see digitalisation as a key enabler for smarter, more efficient textile production. We are already applying this in our products through our monitoring system. Our digital innovation for spinning mill optimisation, MyMill, enables internal benchmarking of shift data and machine productivity, delivers machine status updates, and supports fast, data-driven decision-making through transparent analytics and predefined reports.
In automation, T-CAN is a strong example of how we respond to customer needs. Our goal was to create a solution that not only reduces operational costs but also enhances quality and consistency in sliver handling. T-CAN minimises manual handling and transport, supports continuous production (also at lunch breaks and night shifts), and ensures consistent quality through reliable material allocation. As a result, mills benefit from lower labour costs, higher machine efficiency, and improved sliver quality.
Sustainability is now a key concern for textile manufacturers. How are Trützschler’s technologies helping mills process fibres more responsibly and move towards resource-efficient production?
We are advancing more sustainable fibre processing technologies to support this transition. Solutions such as our proven WASTECONTROL system and the highly efficient cleaning technology of our Pre-Cleaner CL-X help ensure that only impurities are removed while valuable fibres remain in the process. This increases raw material utilisation, reduces unnecessary waste and helps mills achieve higher quality results from their raw materials.
In addition, energy efficiency plays a key role in our technology development. Our machines are designed to minimise power consumption as well as the use of compressed air and process air for material transport. Compared to alternative solutions, they often require significantly less energy and air, helping mills reduce operating costs while improving the overall sustainability of their production.
With TRUECYCLED, we offer a dedicated solution in spinning preparation for the recycling of textile waste. It covers the complete spinning preparation process: from opening and cleaning to carding and drawing secondary fibres. Our holistic approach, combined with Trützschler’s expertise for the entire spinning preparation process, ensures that manufacturers avoid unnecessary fibre shortening and achieve the best possible quality results. In this way, we aim to contribute to a more sustainable textile chain.
