Deal for ATDC-JUKI Tech Hub signed

During the international visit of Indian textile delegation led by the Union Minister of Textiles, Kavuru Sambasiva Rao to Japan, important MoUs were signed. An MoU between Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC) and JUKI Corporation to set up ATDC-JUKI Tech Innovation and Industry Hub? (ATDC-JUKI TIIH) at ATDC – Bangalore, Karnataka was signed recently by Darlie Koshy, DG & CEO, ATDC & IAM and Toshiyuki Yamanaka – Managing Director, Juki India Pvt Ltd in the presence of K S Rao, Monika Garg, JS (Exports), MoT, GoI, Balvinder Kumar, Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Karthikeya, Director (Lab), Textiles Committee from Indian Delegation and Shinji Yamaguchi – Senior Managing Officer, Juki Corporation, Katsumi Nihei – Corporate Officer, Industrial Sewing Machine Business Unit, Juki Corporation, Toshiyuki Yamanaka – Managing Director, Juki India Pvt Ltd.

ATDC-JUKI TECH Innovation and Industry Hub will be the point of confluence between the Apparel Industry, JUKI experts and ATDC knowledge resources. It will provide a unique outlay to bridge the gap between the industry awareness and the new technologies being brought to India by JUKI. It will also explore the scope of conducting industry oriented training effectively.

Another MoU between National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and Bunka Gakuen Educational Foundation was also signed in the presence of Indian Delegation.

Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC); under the aegis of Apparel Export Promotional Council, has emerged as Indias Largest Vocational Training Network for the Apparel Sector with 175 ATDCs including 25 ATDC Community Colleges and over 150 ATDC- SMART Peripatetic Centres and Skill Camps at present in major apparel clusters spread across 22 states and 85 cities Pan India.

ATDCs National Head Office at "PARIDHAN VIKAS BHAWAN" in Sector-44, Gurgaon manages and monitors the activities of the Pan-India network of ATDC Community Colleges & Centres and also overseas implementation of the SMART Project. ATDCs aim is to train skilled workforce for the rapidly growing export and domestic sectors of the Apparel Industry and upgrade the technical skills to improve quality, productivity and efficiency in a global context. In ATDCs journey of "Skilling the Apparel Sector" it now has the largest network of 25 ATDC Community Colleges offering Advance Diploma, Diploma and Certificate Programmes and over 150 ATDC-SMART Centres & Skill Camps offering 1-4 months Certificate Programmes under its banner. ATDC plans to expand to a total of 250 ATDC SMART Peripatetic Centres/Skill Camps, under the ISD Scheme in the ensuing 2-3 years.
