Fernando Rati highlights sustainable cotton practices at Bharat Tex 2026.
Cotton Brazil has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening long-term engagement with India’s textile industry through knowledge sharing, sustainability and industry collaboration.
Fernando Rati, Head of Cotton Brazil, recently participated in Bharat Tex 2026, where he interacted with textile manufacturers, spinning mills, brands, industry associations, trade partners and government stakeholders.
The event enabled Cotton Brazil to strengthen existing relationships, establish new industry connections and gain deeper insights into the sourcing, quality and sustainability priorities of India’s textile sector.
During the exhibition, Rati conducted a masterclass titled Best Practices in Brazilian Cotton Production: Productivity, Sustainability & Traceability. The session highlighted Brazil’s cotton production ecosystem, its international competitiveness and the practices supporting responsible and efficient cultivation.
The masterclass covered sustainable production methods, responsible cotton certification, crop rotation, soil health, biodiversity conservation and the growing use of digital technologies in agriculture.
Rati also discussed traceability systems, quality assurance processes and initiatives aimed at improving cotton performance during spinning. These measures are intended to provide textile manufacturers with greater transparency and consistency across the cotton supply chain.
The session further outlined Cotton Brazil’s roadmap for supporting reliable and sustainable cotton sourcing for global textile markets, including India.
Through its participation at Bharat Tex 2026, Cotton Brazil aims to deepen cooperation between the Brazilian cotton sector and Indian textile stakeholders while promoting productivity, sustainability, traceability and quality across the value chain.
