Chhattisgarh offers up to 200% incentives for textile investments
New policy targets garment units with strong job-linked support.
The Government of Chhattisgarh has announced incentives of up to 200% of Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) under its Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, aiming to attract new investments in textile and garment manufacturing across the state.
Under the policy, a garment manufacturing unit investing ₹100 crore and generating employment for around 3,000 people could qualify for total incentives of up to ₹200 crore, depending on the project scale, job creation and eligibility conditions. The incentive package includes capital subsidies, employment-linked assistance and operational support measures.
“The focus has been to reduce friction for investors by combining infrastructure readiness with a comprehensive incentive framework,” said Rajat Kumar, Secretary, Department of Commerce & Industries, Government of Chhattisgarh. “Our textile parks in Nava Raipur are designed to enable quick scale-up and efficient operations from day one.”
As part of its diversification beyond mineral-based industries, Chhattisgarh is developing dedicated textile infrastructure in Nava Raipur, India’s first greenfield smart city of the 21st century. Plug-and-play textile and readymade garment parks have been established, offering plots ranging from 0.3 to 10 acres. These parks feature dependable power and water supply, common effluent treatment facilities, and integrated waste management systems.
Designed for 24×7 operations, the parks also support night shifts for women workers and provide worker housing within the industrial ecosystem. The location offers strong connectivity through the Mumbai–Howrah railway corridor and proximity to Visakhapatnam Port, along with air connectivity via Raipur Airport.
The policy also provides monthly employment support of ₹6,000 per woman worker and ₹5,000 per male worker for five years, along with training subsidies up to ₹15,000 per employee, electricity duty exemption for 12 years, and freight assistance.
Chhattisgarh produces over 200 metric tonnes of Tussar silk annually, while Champa silk holds a GI tag. Proposed investments by companies such as Swift Merchandise and Punit Creation are expected to generate over 10,000 jobs.
