Industry leaders to discuss circularity, EU readiness, green finance and AI-led innovation.

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) and Sustainable Resolution (SU.RE) will host the first ECO-STITCH Sustainability Conclave on April 3, 2026, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The by-invitation conclave will be held alongside the 6th FAB Show 2026 and supported by the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability Council (GATS), Brands & Sourcing Leaders Association (BSL), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

The conclave aims to build a global textile and apparel ecosystem where sustainability becomes central to every manufacturing decision. It is expected to attract over 150 participants, including brand owners, buying houses, manufacturers, exporters, policymakers, and innovators, to explore meaningful transformation across the value chain.

Key discussions will focus on EU readiness, sustainability adoption challenges for Indian brands, green finance, social inclusion, and UN-led cluster initiatives. A CEO panel will also examine how sustainability can be embedded as a business strategy rather than treated as a compliance requirement.

“Sustainability can no longer remain an aspirational goal for the apparel industry. It is high time it develops the foundation of how we design, source and manufacture,” said Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI. “We will have candid discussions to debate on the biggest sustainability challenges and opportunities, help attendees gain actionable strategies, practical solutions, new networks for collaboration to accelerate adoption of responsible and circular practices.”

The conclave will feature a 3R architecture—Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle—through experiential zones showcasing sustainable sourcing, upcycled collections, and “waste-to-wardrobe” supply chains. It will also include an Automation and AI Showcase highlighting digital tools and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Another highlight will be the launch of the CMAI SU.RE Sustainability Awards to honour manufacturers, brands, innovators, and service providers driving measurable progress in sustainability and circularity.

“The ECO-STITCH Conclave is designed to go beyond conversations and focus on practical pathways for change,” said Naveen Sainani, Hon. Gen. Secretary & Chairman, ESG Committee, CMAI.

The event will also host a Grand Sustainable Fashion Showcase featuring 12 curated sequences, with participation from leading fashion institutes including NIFT Bengaluru, JD Institute, SOFT Pune, and IDT Surat.

CMAI said the FAB Show 2026 will also strongly reflect sustainability through its ambience and a dedicated pavilion featuring fifteen exhibitors showcasing eco-conscious innovations.
