For the first time ever the SSM X-Series will be shown to the public. The machines—TWX-W/D, PWXW and PSX-W/D—are the most economised winding solution, reduced to the max yet maintaining highest flexibility for any cost efficient winding application.

Rieter’s order intake increased by 32 per cent to CHF 510.7 million in the first half of 2016 (CHF 388.3 million in the first half of 2015), thanks in particular to stronger demand in the machinery business. As expected, order intake was thus significantly higher than sales of CHF 436.9 million (CHF 553.9 million in the first half of 2015). Rieter achieved EBITDA of CHF 34.4 million or 7.9 per cent of sales (CHF 66.0 million or 11.9 per cent of sales in the first half of 2015) due to good results of the Components and After Sales business groups. EBIT amounted to CHF 15.7 million while the EBIT margin was 3.6 per cent (CHF 46.1 million and 8.3 per cent respectively in the first half of 2015).

China has emerged as one of the largest travel volume handling countries for inbound. It has over 50 million domestic and inbound tourists annually. If India has to think of such numbers then which factors do we need to address seriously. In 2007, I had written an article on the same subject. However nine years have passed, but the dream of Mumbai to be like Shanghai is still a dream. Although the world is progressing at a jet speed, the developments of Mumbai and its infrastructure do not find any major changes. One wonders when will Mumbai become another Shanghai.
