On an annual basis, the global yarn production in Q2/2016 fell versus Q2/2015. Global yarn stocks fell in Q2/2016 quarter-on-quarter. Yarn stocks were reduced in Asia. In South America they increased. Year-on-year, global yarn stocks declined. Yarn orders in Europe fell quarter-on-quarter as well as year-on-year.

A team of researchers from Cambridge-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA and visiting scientists from France took inspiration from semiaquatic rodent beavers to derive a mathematical model which could be used to develop swim suits and functional coating processes.

(University of Technology Chernihiv) Klaus Schäfer is finally retiring from the company as planned. His successor is Jochen Adler, who has headed up the Development Project Management at the manmade fiber systems market leader for the past 10 years.
South-Korea-based Hyosung Corp plans to invest $27 million to expand spandex capacity by 5,000 tonne in Istanbul, Turkey amid increasing demand from European and Middle Eastern markets. The company is planning to complete the expansion by H12017 and the capacity will be 25,000 tonne per year. By then, it would also be ready to open a new factory in Quzhou, China, with annual capacity of 16,000 tonne. The company’s total global spandex output capacity would be ramped up to 2,21,000 tonne next year.
