Avcon Controls sees much potential in Turkey
Avcon Controls Pvt Ltd – known to manufacture high-quality automated valves for textile & process control industry – is targeting to reach Rs 100 crore by FY 2024-25 with exports contributing majorly to this growth. In this interview, Manisha Dabholkar, Joint Managing Director, Avcon Controls Pvt Ltd, elaborates more on the company’s export strategies and its plans to support the growth of the Indian textile industry.
Please brief us about Avcon Controls and its product offerings.
Avcon Controls Pvt Ltd was founded by Mr Avinash Kawale in 1969. It is a 53-year experienced company and manufactures automated valves for textile & process control industry. Avcon Controls is known all over the continents as a manufacturers of quality products such as solenoid valves, ball valves, butterfly valves with pneumatic & electric actuators, pneumatically / electrically operated controls/globe valves, gas controls & regulation products. Avcon produces more than 4800 varieties of products in five manufacturing plants setup in Mumbai & Pune.
How is Avcon Controls serving the textile & textile engineering sector?
Avcon serves more than 500 textile & textile related industries in both the segments of knitting & weaving. Avcon provides 2-way & 3-way solenoid valves, manifold mounted solenoid valves, Angle seated manual & pneumatically operated valves, manual butterfly valves or automated butterfly valves. Our customers are Coates India, Arvind Mills, Siyarams, Raymond, Garden Silk Mills, Vardhaman Group, Oswal, S&P Threads, OCM etc.
What are the key challenges faced by the textile & textile engineering sector? How is your company overcoming them?
Avcon was facing a big challenge of demand versus supply and, hence, decided to have a dedicated manufacturing setup with state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, testing facility, assembly line, dispatch and packing section. This resulted in achieving almost 98% delivery schedule.

If I answer in single line then “Fit & forget” is the correct sentence applicable to our brand Avcon.

Could you please brief us about your exports business? How do you intend to expand your overseas business?
Avcon mainly exports to Europe (especially in Austria), Japan, USA, UAE, Sri Lanka, Russia and South Africa. We are planning to have a dedicated team of sales engineers to cater and expand the export business by nearly 30%.
How do you view the potential of Turkey? What kind of solutions can you offer to customers in Turkey?
As I told you there will be a dedicated team of sales engineers to deal the export business & overseas exhibitions to achieve our Rs 100 crore target by end of financial year 2024-2025. Turkey is a very good market in Europe. As we have strong hold in Europe in terms of export, we see much potential in Turkey. Hence, we are spending much in advertising our products during exhibition in Turkey.
In terms of developing new products & solutions, what are your focused areas?
Avcon has full fledge R&D team for design & development of various valves & accessories. Avcon has nearly 800 Indian & international standards such as ASME, ISO, ASTM, JIS, DIN, BS, IEC, IS, API, ISA and FCI in the library. Avcon is focusing on suppling various Avcon products to industries like pharmaceutical & biotech and process control.
What are your growth plans for the company?
Avcon strive to achieve our Rs 100 crore target by end of financial year 2024-2025.
