Area Concept successfully implemented in THE GALLERY
Well-attended trade show stands, packed aisles, busy reception counters ? this sums up THE GALLERY drawing to a close in Düsseldorf. Over its core period from 30 January to 2 February 2015 nearly 5,000 trade buyers visited the Botschaft on Cecilienallee as well as the Rheinlandsaal ballroom at the Hilton Hotel to browse 500 brands on a total of 7,500 sq m of exhibition space.
Commenting on this, Project Director of National Trade Shows Ulrike Kähler, said: ?We are very pleased that the positive atmosphere from Berlin has continued her at fashion destination Düsseldorf. For THE GALLERY exhibitors this was a successful event where the new concept and the exhibitor portfolio went down very well with retailers.?
With the segmentation into a GOLD, SILVER and WHITE AREA for commercial agents, contemporary design and accessories, the new segment-based concept was successfully put into practice. The GOLD AREA, in particular, housing such renowned agencies as LOUD! AGENCY · PEGASO DISTRIBUTION · STUDIOVENTITRE · LAST OF THE TRUE · DIE HINTERHOFAGENTUR as well as D-TAILS was extremely well attended. By last Monday many exhibitors had already ?moved into? their stands and invited buyers to book appointments. Beyond the core duration of THE GALLERY specialist retailers will still be able to see the collections until the coming Thursday. Philipp Kronen, Managing Partner of the Igedo Company, explains why: ?The growing number of high-end labels and agencies confirms our Showroom Concept. Being present for 10 days and this twice a year is an ideal alternative to renting a showroom all year round in terms of economics.?
Fashion inside and out was the motto governing THE GALLERY and this is why as part of a press breakfast a panel discussion discussed the issue of ?How to Get the Fun Back into Fashion? in-depth. Panellists included Patrick Coppolecchia-Reinartz, CEO of the D-Tails agency, Dominik Meuer, CEO of Hinterhofagentur and retailer Isabel Brodt, CEO of Identità -Italiana, to name but three. At the Bloggerwalk bloggers from France such as Fanning Tseng from MUCstyle and Vreni Frost of Neverever, were invited to be inspired by trendy collections and styles. Even Düsseldorf?s Lord Mayor Thomas Geisel decided at short notice to visit the trade show on Sunday and was introduced to the trends and concepts by Ulrike Kähler and Philipp Kronen.
The Igedo Company also made a fashion statement outside the ?Botschaft?. Featuring on large posters attached to the façade were photographs of Alina Kovaleva, a young talent designer from the British Higher School of Art & Design from Moscow. On Saturday evening guests were able to make contacts while networking in a relaxed, convivial setting at the Get-Together.
Also voicing their satisfaction were the exhibitors of Red Carpet, the evening fashion segment at the Hilton Hotel. The third edition of this order platform for festive fashion has now become a wellestablished fixture. Here, too, manufacturers of cocktail and evening dresses succeeded in filling their order books with many new customer leads. Commenting on this Sue Polivka, Account Manager at Mac Duggal, said: ?RED CARPET proved a very positive experience for us with plenty of potential. We met with avid interest in our brand and look forward to taking part in the event in July again.? Dirk Pfeiffer, Head of Purchasing at Cruz Berlin, was also positive: ?This platform is good and important for Germany. It eases purchasing for us, which ? apart from at this event ? is still relatively fragmented. There was a good selection of ranges ? a slightly earlier date would be desirable though.?
The next editions of THE GALLERY and RED CARPET will be held from 24 to 27 July 2015 in Düsseldorf.
