TechnoSport transforms Satara Hill Half Marathon Course into ambient OOH canvas

India’s largest activewear brand joins the 15th Satara Hill Half Marathon as ‘Powered By’ sponsor.

The Satara hills don’t make it easy for any runner. Twenty-one kilometres of sustained climb, run in heat, UV exposure and humidity that punish anyone who doesn’t pace themselves. At the 15th edition of the Satara Hill Half Marathon this year, TechnoSport, India’s largest activewear brand, is transforming the 21.0975 km Satara Hill Half Marathon route into an ambient OOH canvas for ‘I AM MOMENTUM’.

TechnoSport, India’s largest activewear brand, has stencilled ‘I AM MOMENTUM’ and its Running Man mark along the 21.0975 km course, on the road surface itself and along the perimeter of the route. The work is done with a hydro-jet technique: pressurised water lifts grime selectively, so the message appears on the surface of the road rather than on top of it. Nothing is printed, pasted or left behind. The placements sit at the points where a runner’s pace usually breaks, at the gradient changes and through the late kilometres, on the stretch of ground a runner is looking at anyway.

The thinking is simple. People run for different reasons and momentum is what keeps them going. Advertising that connects the brand better with the runners, evoking a feeling of camaraderie. As the ‘Powered By’ sponsor, TechnoSport has also designed the official race jersey for the event. It is built on FeatherLite™, the brand’s lightweight performance fabric, and was developed against Satara’s specific conditions of sun exposure and high humidity over a long climb. The jersey weighs approximately 94 grams, and at that weight, breathability and moisture management do their work and the garment stops registering as something the runner is carrying.

Both pieces come out of the same brand position, TechnoSport exists to democratise performance wear. In India, performance gear is not an aspiration purchase, it is a necessity, and the brand’s job is to remove the friction between an Indian and the movement he is already doing, without charging a brand tax for it. ‘I AM MOMENTUM’ is that promise addressed to 10,000 runners at the moment they most need to hear it.

Speaking on the activation, Sandeep Jhunjhunwala, Director, TechnoSport , said, “Our ambition is to fuel momentum for a billion Indians, and that is only possible if the gear is built for the conditions Indians actually move in. The Satara jersey is a case in point, where we built it from scratch for this race, for UV exposure, humidity, and climb. None of it was adapted from a global template. That is what democratising performance looks like in practice, the right product for the person running here. Adding onto this our ambient OOH activation reinforced our mission of enabling momentum for Indians, while helping the Satara runners connect better with the brand“

The 2026 edition of the Satara Hill Half Marathon, organised by the Satara Runners Foundation, is expected to bring together more than 10,000 runners from India and overseas. Known for its challenging and scenic hill route, the event is being held under the theme ‘Pace for Peace’.
