Frankfurt event highlights innovation, sustainability, growth.

Techtextil 2026 is set to expand its global footprint, bringing together over 1,500 exhibitors from 49 countries at Frankfurt am Main from April 21–24, 2026. The leading trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens will welcome more than 120 first-time participants, reflecting growing international engagement despite ongoing economic and geopolitical challenges. Running alongside the event, Texprocess remains stable with around 200 exhibitors, taking the combined total to over 1,700 participants at the Frankfurt exhibition grounds.

The event will feature 16 country pavilions, including those from France, Korea and Switzerland, while the Netherlands and Tunisia will debut dedicated national showcases. Organisers report increased participation from key markets such as India, Portugal and the Netherlands, alongside new exhibitors from Australia, Colombia, Nigeria, Hungary and Uruguay. The exhibition aims to foster partnerships, unlock market opportunities and accelerate the practical application of advanced textile technologies.

A key highlight is the Performance Apparel Textiles segment in Hall 9.0, which has doubled its exhibition space. Around 130 exhibitors from 13 countries will showcase materials designed for protection, thermoregulation, insulation and cooling, catering to sectors such as workwear, military clothing and sports apparel. The segment will also host “Performance Apparels on Stage,” presenting functional garments and wearable innovations developed using materials from participating companies.

Sustainability will be a major focus under the Special Interest Nature Performance category, spotlighting bio-based fibres, natural polymers and organic yarn solutions. Exhibitors will display environmentally responsible materials aligned with evolving regulatory and customer requirements.

Additionally, Techtextil will introduce Textile Chemicals & Dyes as a dedicated product segment for the first time, featuring over 30 exhibitors. Positioned alongside fibres, yarns and performance textiles, the segment aims to streamline collaboration across industries including automotive, aerospace, medical technology and construction, reinforcing the fair’s role as a hub for innovation and industry advancement.
