ASSOCON 2018 brings associations from different segments together

ASSOCON 2018, held on September 4, 2018 at World Trade Center, Mumbai introduced a refreshing concept of bringing associations from different segments together. It was the first ever event where associations from different trade industries were brought together. The event witnessed 60 delegates from 30 associations.

This event was conceptualised and cumulated by Suvin Expo & N-gauge. The event was managed by Suvin Advisors and Expolab were their technology partner. The event created a platform for learning new concepts and sharing experiences for the overall growth and development of associations who are the backbone of Indian Industries.

The event was supported by All India Association of Industries, Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations in India, and Association of System Integrators & Retailers in Technology. India ITME Society was the proud award partner, while RMOSS Prints was the printing partner.

The session began with a key note address by Ninad Karpe, Past chairman, Confederation of Indian Industries, western region. His fascinating presentation on “Brave new World” set the pace for conference and made every association present realise that how rapidly world around is changing with development of technologies.

After an interesting keynote address the organisers, Avinash Mayekar, Shekhar Shridhankar and Nilay Jani gave a small welcome note and introduced the dignitaries and delegates with the theme of the conference. This was followed by Shantanu Bhadkamkar, Immediate Past President Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce-Industry & Agriculture’s precise and enlightening case study presentation.

The event then witnessed the panel discussion on “Role of events to boost Indian Industries” the session was moderated by Avinash Mayekar, MD, Suvin Advisors and Suvin Expo LLP. The panelist for the session were Arvind Sinha, Co-chairman, Textile Forum, Indo American Chamber of Commerce; Dr Hemant Sonare, National Chairman, Textile Association of India; Satyendra Mehra, Director, NuernbergMesse India; and Seema Srivastava, ED, India ITME Society.

Seema also showed a small video of India ITME society’s upcoming event GTTES, which will take place from January 18-19, 2019 at Mumbai.

Post lunch the session continued with a presentation by Arvind Sinha. He presented statistics about few of the successful associations in the US and China.

The session was followed by the need of the hour topic “How to use technology to improve Association”. The panelist for the session were Jiten Mehta, Chairman, Association of System Integrators & Retailers in Technology; Tej Contractor, Training Committee Chairman, BrihanMumbai Custom Brokers Association (BCBA); Vasuki Sundaram, Past Jt. Secretary, Travel Agents Federation of India. The session was moderated by Nilay Jani, Founder & CEO, N-guage & Expolab.

Pankaj Shah, President, Association of System Integrators & Retailers in Technology introduced their associations, its working and how it helps its members for their growth.

The valedictory speech was given by Suresh Vaidya Chairman, Vaidya & Associates. He summarised the session and gave valuable insights on running associations.

The awards were supported by India ITME society and it was presented by Suresh Vaidya and Seema Srivastava. The award for “Most growth-oriented organisation” was awarded to Association of System Integrators & Retailers in Technology. Federation of Associations of Maharashtra was awarded “High Impact Initiative” award. The “Best Digital Adoption” was given to Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Association of India and the “Best Social Impact” was awarded to Cotton Vidarbha.
