Intertek introduces training courses for textiles
Intertek jointly with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has introduced the fifth collection of training courses under the Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP), designed by the Bangladesh government to support the apparel and textile sector.
Intertek jointly with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has introduced the fifth collection of training courses under the Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP), designed by the Bangladesh government to support the apparel and textile sector. The apparel and textile sector is the Bangladesh’s largest export industry. The government-funded SEIP courses aim to increase the skilled workforce and build future leaders of the industry.
Initiated in June 2016, this programme has helped more than 120 graduates to develop the skills needed to join the workforce in the garment manufacturing industry. During this period, Intertek has provided its support to SEIP trainees through its quality assurance and textile testing expertise by offering bespoke training modules created by Intertek experts. The programme is designed for both classroom training and shop floor skill enhancement learning to build a practical awareness of quality assurance testing within the textiles sector.
During the launch, Jalal Ahmed, Executive Project Director, EPD and secretary, Finance Division, Finance Ministry encouraged the students to take this opportunity to learn and acquire greater knowledge. He inspired the young graduates to have the determination to make positive changes with the aim of creating a transformational process benefitting themselves as well as the local economy.
