KCT signs MoU with ITAMMA

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore, and Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturer's Association (ITAMMA), Mumbai to establish a common facility centre for textile engineering industry at the campus of KCT under the Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore, and Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturer’s Association (ITAMMA), Mumbai to establish a common facility centre for textile engineering industry at the campus of KCT under the Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, KCT and S Senthilkumar, President, ITAMMA, Mumbai signed the MoU.

KCT is an autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University Chennai offering 13 undergraduate (B.E., B. Tech.) and 14 post-graduate (M.E., M. Tech., MCA, MBA) programmes of study. All the eligible UG programmes have also been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Nine of the thirteen academic departments have been recognised as research centres by Anna University for doing research leading to Ph.D. Degree.

As per this MOU it is planned to establish testing and quality control facility for engineering and plastics design corner for product design and development training for manpower capability development Knowledge Corner, Data Centre and Library Technology/Product development for indigenisation for the benefit of the textile accessories and machinery manufacturing industry situated in and around Coimbatore numbering more than 70.
