Udaipur

Hindustan Zinc has decided to extend its
support towards the handloom weavers on National Handloom Day by organizing an
exhibition of products by Sakhi.

Sakhi is the
flagship initiative by the company. Under this initiative, the company had set
up Sakhi stalls at different locations including Dariba, Kayad, Agucha, Zawar,
Debri, Chanderiya, and Udaipur which is also the head office of the company.

The priority of
Hindustan Zinc is women empowerment for which the company has come up with many
initiatives so as to support the women of the country. Women from
different parts of Rajasthan & Uttarakhand have been given training so that
they can upskill their stitching instinct. Today, as the country wants to
achieve the motto of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, ‘Vocal for Local’ is the need of the
hour. National Handloom Day is celebrated in the country to take this
initiative forward and to appreciate how the country is still reviving the
dying art.

Sakhi Utpadan
Samiti had put up stalls so that a good experience can be offered to the local
women in terms of pulses, pickles, spices, handicrafts stitched by them, etc.
According to Gudiya Kanwar, Native, Kayad village, Ajmer, Hindustan Zinc made
it possible for these women to derive joy and satisfaction from their hard work
and dedication. Such programs equip women artisans with the resource and
knowledge to become financially independent.
