GHCL announces Q3 FY21 results

GHCL, India’s leading
chemical and textile company, recently announced its financial results for Q3
FY21.

Commenting on the
financial performance, R S Jalan,
Managing Director, GHCL
said, “With several vaccines getting approval
worldwide and here in India too, business is being restored due to an upbeat
sentiment and the economy is making appreciable strides towards normalcy. We
have demonstrated encouraging performance during the quarter under review with
26 per cent profitability (PBT) growth Y-o-Y basis and 41 per cent profitability
(PBT) growth Q-o-Q basis. Strong performance is a result of concerted efforts
undertaken by the Company and a healthy demand scenario for our products in
both the business segments. We are focused, agile and committed towards
ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth of all our stakeholders.”

Q3 FY21 VS Q3 FY20 (Standalone
Performance)

·      
Net Revenue
for Q3 FY21 is at Rs 809 crore as compared to Rs 834 crore in the corresponding
quarter last year.

·      
Robust EBIDTA
growth of 15 per cent, EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 204 crore as compared
to Rs 177 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

·      
Net Profit
(PAT) is at Rs 111 crore as against Rs. 101 crore in the third quarter last fiscal,
despite of major tax reversal in Q3 FY 20.

Business Segments (Q3FY21 VS Q3FY20)

·      
Inorganics
Chemicals division’s revenue is Rs 528 Crore in Q3 FY21 as compared to Rs 549
crore in the corresponding quarter in FY20.

Home Textiles
business revenue is at Rs 280 Crore in Q3FY 21 as compared to Rs 285 crore in
the corresponding quarter in FY20.

GHCL Limited has
established itself as a well-diversified group with an ascertained footprint in
chemicals, textiles and consumer products segment. In chemicals, the company
mainly manufactures Soda Ash (Anhydrous Sodium Carbonate) that is a major raw
material for detergents and glass industries and Sodium Bicarbonate (baking
soda). Its textiles operation is an integrated set up, which commences right
from spinning of fibre (yarn), weaving, dyeing, printing of the finished
products, like sheets and duvets, primarily exported worldwide. Consumer
Products operation is another business for GHCL where it is manufacturing and
selling edible salt, industrial grade salt and markets jujube honey, spices and
blended spices in the country under the brand name of i-Flo.
