Strengthening its commitment to Indian sports and nurturing talent nationwide

Trident Group has announced its entry into India’s professional golf landscape by partnering with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) as the Title Sponsor of the inaugural Trident Open Golf Championship. The tournament, carrying a prize purse of Rs 10 million, will be held from November 11 to 14 at the prestigious Chandigarh Golf Club.

This strategic alliance underscores Trident’s larger vision of fostering sporting excellence and nurturing emerging talent across the country. The Trident Open joins the lineup of 15 tournaments in the second half of the PGTI 2025 season, which collectively offer Rs 170 million in prize money.

Sharing his thoughts on the association, Rajinder Gupta, Chairman Emeritus, Trident Group, said, “We are delighted to launch the inaugural Trident Open Golf Championship in association with PGTI, under the inspirational leadership of Kapil Dev Ji—a national icon and beacon of Indian sporting pride.

This initiative is a reflection of Trident’s unwavering belief in the power of sport to unite, inspire, and elevate. Golf, in particular, embodies strategy, discipline, and connection—values that align closely with our organisational ethos. We are honoured to host this landmark tournament at the Chandigarh Golf Club, fondly referred to as the ‘Nursery of Indian Golf’, which has nurtured many of the nation’s golfing champions.”

With this partnership, Trident Group steps firmly into the Indian sports arena, reinforcing its dedication to building platforms for talent, celebrating excellence, and contributing to the country’s sporting legacy.
