TMMA honours achievers from machinery industry

The 59th Annual General Meeting of the Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (India) was held on September 27, 2019 at Hotel Trident, Mumbai.

The 59th Annual General Meeting of the Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (India) was held on September 27, 2019 at Hotel Trident, Mumbai. During the event, the Association’s Export Awards Scheme covered the following categories of Awards:

  • Apex Export Award
  • Segment Export Awards for each of the major sectors of the Textile Machinery Industry i.e.
  • Textile machinery sector
  • Parts and accessories sector
  • Textile testing, monitoring and controlling instruments sector
  • Special Export awards: category-wise

Export Excellence Awards

Apex award was given to Saurer Textile Solutions, Vadodara. During the year 2018-19, Saurer Textile Solutions exported Textile Spinning Machinery to the tune of Rs 484 crore, which formed 79 per cent of the total turnover.

Segment Export award in machinery sector to Lakshmi Machine Works. During the year 2018-19, Lakshmi Machine Works have exported spinning machinery to the tune of Rs 694 crore, which formed 39 per cent of the total turnover. The major countries to which they have exported to are Bangladesh, Kenya, Vietnam, Pakistan, Turkey, Indonesia, China, Nepal, etc. Segment Export award in parts and accessories sector to Lakshmi Card Clothing. During the year 2018-19, LCC exported parts and accessories worth Rs 27 crore, which formed 21 per cent of the total turnover.

Segment Export award in textile testing, monitoring and controlling instruments sector to Premier Evolvics. During the year 2018-19, Premier Evolvics exported textile testing, monitoring and controlling instruments to the tune of Rs 39 crore, which formed 37 per cent of the total turnover. Special Export Awards in spinning machinery sector to Rieter India, Pune. During the year 2018-19, Rieter India exported spinning machinery to the tune of Rs 569 crore, which formed 49 per cent of the total turnover.

Special Export Awards in processing machinery sector to Dhall Enterprises. During the year 2018-19, Dhall Enterprises exported textile processing machinery to the tune of Rs 53 crore, which formed 85 per cent of the total turnover. The countries to which they had exported to are Bangladesh, Nigeria and Turkey.

Special Export Awards in parts and accessories sector to InspirOn Engineering. During the year 2018-19, InspirOn Engineering exported parts and accessories to the tune of Rs 19 crore, which formed 39 per cent of the total turnover. Special Export Awards in small scale sector to Yamuna Machine Works. During the year 2018-19, Yamuna Machine Works exported textile processing machinery to the tune of Rs 20 crore, which formed 17 per cent of the total turnover.

R&D Awards

Six members’ nominations were received for seven product developments for R&D Awards. The Jury considered four nominations eligible for the Award for their R&D efforts during the year 2018-19.

The Award winners are: InspirOn Engineering for their development of high squeeze padder, Nantex Machineries for their development of computerised vertical embroidery machine, Premier Evolvics for their development of double roving stop motion, and The Indian Card Clothing for their development of process for manufacturing improved card clothing.
