TMMA announces leadership changes

M Sankar has been appointed as the Chairman of TMMA.

The Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (TMMA) – India, has announced changes for office bearer position for the FY 2023-25.

M Sankar has been appointed as the Chairman of TMMA. He is currently the President of Textile Machinery Division at Lakshmi Machine Works.

Sankar is a seasoned professional with a rich experience of over 40 years in textile industry.  A textile engineer from Madras University Chennai, he has been associated with LMW Textile Machinery Division since last 36 years.  His long and distinguished service at LMW made significant contribution to the textile industry in general. He has also served as Chairman of LMW Textile Machinery (Suzhou) Co, China; a wholly owned subsidiary of LMW for a span of 4 years.

After the appointment, Sankar expressed, “We at TMMA (I) will assist in technological knowhow across sectors for manufacture of high-end machinery in India, to strengthen Industry ecosystem in becoming truly ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and establish indigenous capabilities for world-class Textile Machinery manufacturing and to fulfill the aspirations of entire value chain. We thank all the members of TMMA for being a part of us and we assure every necessary support to the Textile Engineering Industry (TEI) in making it stronger and more vibrant.”

Additionally, Prashant Mangukia  has been selected as the First Vice Chairman. He is currently the Director at Yamuna Machine Works.

Shailesh Wani has been selected as the Second Vice Chairman. He is currently theManaging Director at Stovec Industries.

Chintan Thumar stands as the Honourable Treasurer at TMMA who is currently working as theManaging Director at Weavetech Engineers.
