Technotex 2015 from April 9 to 11

Launch ceremony of Technotex 2015, the 4th edition of the largest international exhibition and conference of the Technical textile industry in India was presided by the Minister of State for Textiles (Independent Charge), Santosh Kumar Gangwar at ´Taj Lands End´, Mumbai recently. The annual event jointly organised by the Ministry of Textiles, and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has become a flagship platform for the Indian technical textile industry to showcase its capabilities, strength and opportunities to the global textile community.

The launch ceremony began with the welcome addresses and Industry perspective by Mohan Kavrie, Managing Director, Supreme Group which was followed by a short film on Indian Technical Textile Industry and Technotex 2015. He welcomed the esteemed dignitaries and briefed the industry the progress of Technotex 2015. Also he spoke about the future and development of technical textile industry in India and emphasised the importance of accelerating usage and promoting investments in India pertaining to the growth of the technical textile industry- which is referred to as the sunshine sector.

Kiran Soni Gupta, Textile Commissioner delivered the address on the initiatives and schemes for the development of the technical textile industry. Santosh Kumar Gangwar delivered the inaugural address for the launch ceremony of Technotex 2015. He emphasised the future initiatives, schemes and environment of encouragement provided by the Government.

Technotex 2015 would be the largest International Exhibition & Conference of Technical Textiles in India. The annual event, organized jointly by the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and FICCI is hosting its 4th edition from April 9-11, 2015 at Mumbai. The event has the support of many Industry associations. The Technical Textile industry is at the threshold of rapid growth with the Government of India providing an atmosphere of support and encouragement. One of the most important objectives behind organizing the Technotex series is to highlight the investment possibilities in the country´s Textile industry. Leading companies from all over the world particularly from China, Taiwan, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Russia, USA, and South East Asian countries are participating both as exhibitors and visitors. The event would also play host to a galaxy of eminent speakers and leaders from India and abroad.

The theme of the Event is ´Indian Technical textiles Industry: Challenges and Opportunities ´. Maharashtra has been unanimously chosen as the ´Host State´. Major states of India like Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and North Eastern States would be Partnering with the event and participating as a partner states showcasing the strengths, Investment opportunities and fruitful models for the Industries.

Around 200 focused exhibitors, occupying a space of about 10,000 sq meters of exhibition area, are expected to showcase the latest developments in technical textile industry.
