Vietnam’s Sacombank recently signed an agreement with the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) to support the latter’s activities to boost the textile and garment sector.

Cotton imports by Southeast Asian nation of Vietnam have surged by around 50 per cent in January 2018, compared to the same month of the previous year, according to data from the country?s ministry of industry and trade. The US, followed by India, Australia, Brazil and Ivory Coast were the major suppliers of white fibre to Vietnam during the month.
Ethiopia very recently showcased its prowess in textile and garment industry at the African Sourcing and Fashion Week, which gathered some 230 international producers and exporters from 25 countries, among which India also played a key role, the organisers Trade and Fairs East Africa and Messe Frankfurt said.
