NITRA releases a new book on “Solar Energy – Fundamentals, Economic and Energy Analysis†authored by Saurabh Kumar Rajput. This book has covered all important aspects of solar energy. The book has six chapters – basics of solar energy, solar thermal and application, solar photovoltaic (PV) and application, economics of solar system, energy analysis of solar systems, and simulation and analysis of photovoltaic (PV) system with maximum power point tracking (MPPT).

In order to make more power available to the textile industry in Maharashtra, the Government of Maharashtra will design a scheme for enabling the use of solar power by textile mills, according to the State’s Textile Minister Subhash Deshmukh.
Today solar energy has established itself as one of the most non-conventional energy resources to steadily replace conventional energy sources such as the hydro electricity and thermal power, as the production of conventional energy is not likely to meet the future electricity demand of the world.
In view of promoting green power, the Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) has decided to install grid-connected roof-top solar power plant at its building. The plant is estimated to be fulfilling about 60-70 per cent of NITRA’s total power consumption in first phase.
