Italian textile machinery companies are working to provide technology solutions that place reduced consumption in energy, water and chemical products at the centre of the production process in the textile industry, supporting their customers in order to reach the target in terms of efficiency and cost savings.

The orders index for Italian textile machinery dropped during the second quarter of 2016 due to negative export figures. According to ACIMIT President Raffaella Carabelli, the drop in machinery exports is due to the ?underlying political uncertainty?.

For Italian textile machinery manufacturers, the first quarter of 2016 has opened with a recovery in orders on the domestic side. In foreign markets, orders have instead dropped off slightly. Raffaella Carabelli, President of ACIMIT, said: “The recovery on the domestic market compared to the minimum recorded a year ago is highly encouraging. Abroad, only a few markets have performed well.”

ITMA 2015, held in Milan from November 12-19 at the Fiera Milano trade fair grounds, closed its doors with some significant statistics. For the eight days of the event, the halls which hosted the 1,700 exhibitors recorded almost 1,23,000 participants, hailing from 147 countries (22 per cent more than the previous edition in Barcelona).
