Suessen was founded in 1920 in the South German village of Suessen, from where it took its name. From its inception Suessen concerned itself with textile components and systems. Spindles were followed by top weighting arms and bottom rollers. In the mid 70s, we got involved in Open End spinning, and it the late 90s, compact spinning followed. In 2002, Suessen was acquired by the well-known Swiss company Rieter.
