The technical textile industry has been registering an annual growth of 11 per cent, and it is expected to grow at about 20 per cent by 2017. The Union Ministry of Textiles has sought additional funds for the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) in the current financial year, says Textile Commissioner Kiran Soni Gupta.

Launch ceremony of Technotex 2015, the 4th edition of the largest international exhibition and conference of the Technical textile industry in India was presided by the Minister of State for Textiles (Independent Charge), Santosh Kumar Gangwar at ´Taj Lands End´, Mumbai recently.

I think the main difference between we Indians and outsiders are that we need to be more receptive to new technology, we should not fear of trial and errors on experimentation.
