The World Textile Summit, that was launched on the second day of the ITMA Milano, gave more than 150 textile industry leaders a range of expert insights into the business issues that feed into decisions on sustainability in the textile supply chain.

Europe still dominates in textile technology, but India is no laggard. It has created its own niche. With 158 exhibitors at the present ITMA 2015, Indian textile machinery and spares industry has come a long way to spread its wings since 1975 when at the same Milan, India fielded a lone exhibitor. ITMA returning to Milan after a gap of 20 years has kindled the high hopes of the Italian textile machinery industry. Already, the first quarters of 2015 has brought in new hopes for the industry with the order book showing a moderate growth of 8 per cent.
