The first European roadshow of 14 textile machinery manufacturers took place on October 18 in Bogota and the following day in Medellin. With over 100 Colombian textile producers attending, it exceeded the expectations of the organisers, the Belgian (SYMATEX), French (UCMTF), Spanish (AMTEX) and Swedish (TMAS) textile machinery associations.
NITRA’s 14th Convocation Ceremony was held recently at NITRA, Ghaziabad in presence of Sanjay Kumar Jain, Chairman, NITRA and Managing Director, TT Ltd. Also present were Dr Arindam Basu, Director General NITRA, Abhijit Pal, Officiating Director, and other faculty members.
Dr Arindam Basu, eminent textile-scientist and Director, Central Silk Technological Research Institute, Central Silk Board, Bangalore has assumed Director General´s Office at Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA), Ghaziabad on 6 March 2014. He is also in overall charge of NITRA´s academic wing NITRA Technical Campus (NTC). Dr Basu flashed the sparkle of genius in academics and secured first class in both B.Sc. (Text.) and M. Text. from prestigious Universities of Calcutta and Bombay, respectively.
