SGS has further expanded its testing facilities at its laboratory in Tunis, Tunisia, which was set up in 2009. As a result, the laboratory’s capabilities have increased for both physical and chemical testing of textiles, thus allowing a much larger testing volume in the lab to meet customers’ demand and providing convenient services to the industry.

“With its expansion, SGS in Tunisia can provide better and faster services for manufacturers and brands needing to comply with international regulations and access global markets,” SGS said in a press release.

The Tunisian textile facility of SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, is ISO 17025 accredited and CPSC approved. The facility serves domestic needs of clients and also provides international services to customers from across the globe.

Tunisia is an important garment exporter to Europe, especially to France and Italy. With more than €3 billion export value, Tunisia is one of the top ten suppliers to the European Union’s garment industry. The country also exports textile products to the US and Asia.
