The R|Elan Millenial Maharanis collection, the outcome of a collaboration between the new age fabric R|Elan and one of India’s leading designers, Nachiket Barve, was showcased at a glittering event – Source India 2018, in Surat very recently. The show was attended by over 250 fashion stalwarts from the Surat textile industry, dignitaries from the Indian government, garment manufacturers, brand owners and retailers – including top officials from the international brands.

Just as the fashion of the past decades had merged with Indian and European fusion, Nachiket brought in the retro glamour with a twist for the 21st century woman who is in search of the aesthetic, elegance and comfort. There were large dollops of oomph and attitude in the creations that ensured that the “Millennial Maharani” collection would turn the wearer into the fashion diva that she always longed to be.

At Source India 2018, R|Elan also rolled out the HEP Accreditation Program 2018 to identify the high performing partners and Hemant Sharma, Head, Reliance – Polyester Sector felicitated the 5 Star partners. Gunjan Sharma, CMO – Polyester Division, Reliance Industries Ltd said “we are overwhelmed with the magnificent response that R|Elan has received over past one year. The end customers’ fascination to acquire high fashion, functionality and performance enhancement apparels and our ability to combine their aspirations in R|Elan is driving the success.”

While commenting on making of the Millennial Maharanis collection Nachiket Barve said “The collection uses a wide range of techniques that reinvent age old craft traditions with a modernist’s point of view. The R|Elanâ„¢ fabrics were wonderful to embellish and do a range of techniques like beading, applique, resham embroidery and to just use for colour blocking. The intricate handwork and the subtle yet striking surfaces come alive on the fabric and are perfect for the destination wedding!”

This opulent collection had exquisite outfits created using special fabrics from R | Elanâ„¢ Free Flow. Fabrics from R | Elanâ„¢ are made from specially engineered fibres manufactured by Reliance Industries Ltd. R | Elanâ„¢ fabrics are designed to provide perfect combination of functionality and fashion, that women of today are looking for. R | Elanâ„¢ FreeFlow delivers greater fluidity, increased finesse, richer colours, and more control than ever on how the fabric performs, enabling designers to deliver not just collections but never-before-felt experiences of couture. The special R | Elanâ„¢ fabric was manufactured for Millenial Maharanis collection by Surat based innovative players such as Ajanta Exports, Yes Fashion, Rachit Creations, Suresh Tex and Varney Fabrics.

Drawing from Reliance Industries’ extensive R&D and vast expertise in fibres, R | Elan™ is a portfolio of innovative fabrics that does more. Forward thinking and striking, the next generation of fabrics as envisioned by Reliance can do what traditional fabrics could not.
