India’s first operational PM MITRA Park begins operations in Warangal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the PM MITRA Park in Warangal, Telangana, marking the launch of India’s first functional PM MITRA Park and a significant step in strengthening the country’s textile manufacturing ecosystem.

Developed at a total cost of Rs 16.95 billion, the Warangal facility operationalises the Centre’s 5F vision — Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign — aimed at building an integrated textile value chain and boosting exports. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the park would accelerate India’s textile revolution and generate large-scale employment, particularly for women.

The park is strategically located near the proposed Nagpur–Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway (NH-163G) and close to NH-163, offering strong multimodal connectivity to rail networks and seaports to support smooth logistics and global trade.

Spread across 1,327 acres, the park features world-class infrastructure including internal road connectivity, a dedicated power substation and assured water supply. It also incorporates sustainability measures such as a Common Effluent Treatment Plant equipped with Zero Liquid Discharge technology.

The project is expected to attract investments of over Rs 60 billion. Around 62 per cent of the park has already been allotted, with over 24,400 jobs expected to be created across the textile value chain, while thousands of jobs have already been generated.

The Ministry of Textiles approved seven PM MITRA parks across Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh in March 2023.

A key investor in the Warangal park is Evertop Textile and Apparel Complex, supported under the Production Linked Incentive scheme. The company plans an investment of Rs 10.51 billion, with an estimated turnover of Rs 19.90 billion and employment generation of around 12,800 people.

The PM MITRA scheme offers Viability Gap Funding, shared infrastructure support and Competitive Incentive Support, enhancing investor confidence and positioning Warangal as a globally competitive textile manufacturing hub.
