Incorporated in 1990, SIMTA is an integrated textile engineering enterprise. The company´s product basket in textiles comprises spindle tapes, clearer rollers, over head travelling cleaners, bobbin transport system, industrial fabrics and foundation of card clothing.

S Senthilkumar, Managing Director of SIMTA Machinery Pvt Ltd, talks to the ITJ team on their plans for ITMA and the wish-list for the government.

What do you think is the status of our textile machinery, parts & accessories industry a SWOT analysis from your side.
We are obviously well placed on the domestic and global map as well for our original equipment, parts & accessories. Going by the statistics, we do have immense potential for enhancing the growth on the accessories front and therefore a need for infrastructure improvement is more warranted.

What are your company´s contribution (by way of technology & products) to the textile industry? And what are the plans for the future?
We do have our contributions by way of our innovative products such as the SIMTA Jacobi Bobbin Transport Systems, incorporating the improved technical features for more adaptability, cost-effective and so on. Yet another product of ours – clearer rollers – eliminate the indiscriminate use of wood, thereby contribute to the concept of ´go green´.

How has your company been faring in the export markets for your machinery?
We have our presence, by and large in Asia, and a bit in Europe and South America.

What is your wish-list for the textile machinery industry and also the Government to make the industry a leader internationally?
Nothing in particular except the existing policies rightly put in place and executed legitimately will pave a smooth way to the textile industry.

What are your expectations at the ITMA 2015 in Milan?
As ITMA, being a grand global textile show, increased number of participation will make a big appeal to the visitors – in turn will transform to large potential of growth with the global textile industry.
