The Czech subsidiary of Nord Drivesystems celebrates its 25th anniversary. In the autumn of 1994, the company founded its site in Hradec Králové near Prague. Nowadays, the Nord-Pohánecí technika, s.r.o. is one of the biggest suppliers of drive technology in the Eastern European country.

Every year, 12,500 drive systems leave the main factory in the capital city of Prague, which together with the Hradec Králové, Brno and Ostrava sites forms the Czech branch. Since 2008 NORD Czech Republic continues to grow; in 2018, sales increased by 4 per cent in comparison with the previous year.

This extremely positive development is an essential result of the enormous commitment of the employees in production, sales and service. “We have achieved a significant position on the Czech market”, says a delighted branch manager Hynek Zubr. “Our customers much appreciate the high quality and the technical characteristics of our products.”

In 2008, to cater for increasing demand, Nord established a state-of-the-art production facility in Prague which produces drive systems for the Czech market. The administration is located there as well. In May, Nord Czech Republic celebrated the 25th anniversary with a gala dinner including cultural programme in Prague.

With more than 4,000 employees, Nord Drivesystems has developed, produced and sold drive technology for over 50 years, and is one of the leading global full-service providers in the industry. In addition to standard drives, Nord delivers application-specific concepts and solutions for special requirements such as energy-saving drives or explosion-protected systems. In the 2018 financial year, annual sales amounted to Euro 700 million Nord now has subsidiaries and sales partners in 98 countries worldwide. The extensive sales and service network guarantees optimal availability, enabling short delivery times and customer-oriented service. Nord produces a very diverse range of drives for torques from 10 Nm up to over 250 kNm, supplies electric motors in the power range of 0.12 kW to 1,000 kW, and supplies the required power electronics with frequency inverters of up to 160 kW. Inverter solutions are available for conventional control cabinet installations as well as for decentralised, fully-integrated drive units.
