NISTI’s organising webinars as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Dr Seshadri Ramkumar of Texas Tech University, and a renowned researcher, academician, and innovator, presented a 90-minute invited talk.

As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, North India Section of the Textile Institute Manchester (NISTI), organised its first of the series of commemorative lectures on 7th Aug 2022. 

Dr Seshadri Ramkumar of Texas Tech University, and a renowned researcher, academician, and innovator, presented a 90-minute invited talk on “Technical Textiles: Quo Vadis?”.  The talk focused on the status of Indian technical textiles and the ways to grow it. It was followed by energetic interaction involving industry leaders and Ministry of Textiles-India officials, among others.

The online event that lasted more than 2 hours was attended by industry leaders, Government of India officials, such as Joint Textile Commissioner, Governing Board members of leading textile associations such as The Textile Association-TAI India, students, and academicians.

The next webinar will be held on Aug 13 at 03:30 pm on the theme of “Sustainability’ in the Textile Industry.
