The firms are expected to finalise MoUs with the state government during the Global Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on November 14–15, with many expressing interest in the Rayalaseema region.

Andhra Pradesh is set to attract fresh investments in its textile sector, with nine companies expressing interest in establishing new units across the state, S Savitha, Minister for Handlooms and Textiles, announced following a review meeting at the State Secretariat in Velagapudi, Amaravati.

Representatives from the companies — including five who joined via video conference — outlined plans to set up facilities in mattress manufacturing, apparel production, garment making, and polyester weaving. The firms are expected to finalise MoUs with the state government during the Global Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on November 14–15, with many expressing interest in the Rayalaseema region.

Minister Savitha said specific project locations would be confirmed at the summit and attributed the surge in investor interest to the state’s new textiles policy introduced by the coalition government led by N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister. She added that more proposals are anticipated in the coming weeks.

During the meeting, the minister felicitated four attending investors. Principal Secretary (Handlooms & Textiles) RP Sisodia, Commissioner G Rekha Rani, and senior officials participated in the discussions.
