MoU on geosynthetics research

The Bombay Textile Research Association (BTRA) and The Geosynthetic Institute (GSI), Folsom, USA have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 6th September 2014 to establish a division known as ´GSI-INDIA´ under BTRA with the aim to develop and transfer of knowledge, critically assess Geosynthetics and their application and to provide service to industry with the help and support of GSI, USA. Keeping this in mind, GSI-India shall carry out the following activities.

  • Basic or applied research on engineering aspects of Geosynthetics and other chemicals used in manufacture of Geosynthetics
  • Develop test methods, standards and product specifications for design and construction
  • Provide training to member´s organisation and their associates and their employees on all areas of application of Geosynthetics
  • Develop special courses, prepaid course materials and organise seminars and workshops
  • Bring out newsletters, books, manuals on Geosynthetic applications
  • Analyse success/failure of application of Geosynthetics and create case histories
